The halloumi entree was massive (I had it as a main and it was still too much for me!). The calamari was amazing, desert was superb, and my partners steak was cooked to perfection. Well worth the $$.

The cocktails and steaks we order were fantastic but not so much the atmosphere. Seated near the very noisy kitchen was quite off putting, listening to the dishwasher clean pans and all the budget heaters outside with cords running everywhere looked messy, in fact the customer on next table tripped over one. Made the overall experience very under whelming.

Bring back the pepper sauce please, it compliments the food extremely well.

Have dined a few times and all the other times it's has been really good, this time wasn't up to the usual standard. Service was good - just a bit slow to start with and the restaurant wasn't that busy. The steak unfortunately was rather bland for the more expensive filet. The most disappointing part was we asked to take home the bone marrow bone for our dog and were given our leftover two potatoes.

Food was very nice and the service was Ok in general, a little pushing and trying to move us along. Was there for a client dinner and had an important customer with us, we wanted to talk, eat and drink not and eat and drink and leave. Toward the end of our dining, staff started cleaning up and packing up the restaurant around us, taking out the rubbish, slamming doors and generally acting like we should leave so they could go home. Nice food but the back end of the service really let it down, hospitality is slipping in this country.

Food all right, expensive compared to other top Chch restaurants. $18 cocktail very standard no presentation and plastic straw. Won’t be back

Great food. Staff had trouble with the beer taps so we were seated for 25 minutes before we received any drinks. Was a busy night and the acoustics were average, making it difficult to have a discussion.

Absolutely the best steak! Warm attentive but not over attentive staff, love the decor and vibe! Definitely somewhere to return with friends and show them a fabulous hidden gem 💎

We so enjoyed our meal at Jaba Grill. The atmosphere is charming and our servers were very competent and friendly. But it's the food that truly excels. My wife and I had very tasty entrees and then shared a 300g sirloin steak. The steak was superb. Furthermore, the wine selections were brilliant. We highly recommend the restaurant.

We love the chicken and the beef ribs. Authentic tandoori flavoured for the chicken. Food was nicely done. Great atmosphere and service.

Thank you so much to the team tonight, the food was awesome and so was the service. Right from the get go we were well looked after. Timing was perfect, the waiter came and asked us if we would like more drinks when we were out and was very efficient with getting orders and the table cleared. Once again thank you so very much to the lovely team tonight, it made my birthday so much more enjoyable.

From the moment we walked in, the staff were very attentive and the food was stellar! If we were locals, this would be on my monthly rotation of restaurants!

Was very disappointed with the squid entree, the squid was really chewy, not soft as expected. The "T Bone steak" tenderloin side was tender but the striploin side was sinewy and not tender. I dont believe the steak was value for money at the price.

Not up to the usual standard. The steak was expensive so thought it should've been bigger and fatter for $58. Couldn't substitute standard fries for what the meal came with. Cheesecakes were tasteless and were not made with cream cheese

Friendly team and good service. We enjoyed the pork ribs and mocktails, "City Sunset" and "Strawberry Soda".

Steak was ok. Not overly tender but flavoursome. Certainly would not class it as great, and probably not worth the $50. The ribs were very nice. Wine selection limited and again a little overpriced at $24 for 250ml glass.

Took four men with me. My son, his friends and my husband. They all loved the meats on offer. The atmosphere was a little cold, the wine list small. Squid entree, bone marrow, salmon entree all lovely. Beef carpaccio needed a sauce/horseradish/cream with it and maybe a cornichon or two. Our mains were exceptional, all the steaks, ribs, and especially my salmon. All in all, tasty and hearty dinner.

We have been a number of times but we're really disappointed and would not recommend anymore. Steaks were all undercooked we sent one back and when it came back it was over cooked. Service disappointed normally would have had a couple more drinks but no one offered a second drink. Then took ages for tables to be cleared and as an after thought offered desert then didn't think they had glayva even though it was an option. Very disappointed UT was my dad's birthday and thought we would treat him instead had to apologize for meql

Good steak, but kumara mash was like less than a teaspoon.

We went back twice, first when we arrived at Christchurch and second one before we head back to Singapore. We love the ribs, it was juicy and big and well marinated. we have been recommending to friends to visit.
