This restaurant was fantastic the food was absolutely superb, the staff and service was amazing. Definitely going back. If you are ever on Orewa you HAVE to go to this restaurant

Amazing food and location an atmosphere for a big family dinner. we were well looked after by the staff. just unfortunate that the waitresses started every sentence with 'Sorry' , that was a bit strange.

The staff were welcoming and attentive. The location is a short walk from the downtown and across the street from the beach. The views are across to the beach. It appears to be a favourite with locals and visitors. The food we had was fresh and nicely flavoured with a slight smokiness from the BBQ.

My husband’s food was served on a chipped dinner plate. He pointed out to manager and he shouted at chef in kitchen. No apology whatsoever from manager. He just walked away

Everything was very good as it has always been when we have eaten there previously. We will be back I'm sure.

We are early eaters when we travel so there was very little wait time or noise. It was very comfortable. The owner was very nice and accomodating.

Great place with an outstanding menu selection, ambience ,yummy meals and the owner was such a lovely guy . Highly recommend ! Great view of the water of Orewa Beach that you can't get in the centre of Orewa at other restaurants . Thank You very happy

Consistently excellent experience including service & food. This is the restaurant my two boys now 11 & 12, always choose to go on their birthdays... They are obsessed with the Ribs here, and rightly so...theyre amazing!

We eat here reasonably regularly. The menu is good and the service friendly and excellent. The char-grilled approach is different and makes an enjoyable change. Well located with an excellent view towards Orewa beach. We had a table by the window and it was great

Prompt, friendly service. Food and drinks delivered in a timely fashion. Tasty and nicely presented. We were thankfully seated on the other side of the big room but there were some noisy children. Enjoyed the "classic music" that they advertise too. Really, it's about the food and the service and they were excellent.

The service was lovely and the meals were delicious. I would definitely return and refer to other friends

Sara was a wonderful host, extremely kind, hospitable and accommodating. The food as always, was really delicious!! The restaurant is also child friendly which is great. There was a requirement to clear tables and provide extra crockery which was overlooked by the waitresses. Although friendly and lovely, it's important to look up more to ensure that your customer is satisfied, any work to be done front of house should be done facing your customers so they don't feel ignored. Just some feedback to ensure you continue to thrive. We'll certainly be back to dine with you in 2026. One of our favorites in Orewa ❤️

Absolutely delicious Christmas Day dinner at Someplace Else. We each had three mains , Ribs, steak and lamb chops cooked on the charcoal grill to perfection. Also chicken buffalo wings for starters was a real feast. Desserts were fabulous the atmosphere and service relaxed but attentive. Highly recommend and will most certainly be back again, thank you for making Christmas Day that extra bit special!

Food and Service was amazing...only downside was we had a very noisy group next to us that made conversation almost impossible.

The food was decent. I had higher expectations after reading other reviews. Our chili prawns were overcooked and the jalapeño croquettes seemed undercooked. The burger and kids meals were good but the ribs were just ok. Staff was friendly and location was nice.

We had a truly great meal. In a word: excellent.

Great location. Tasty food. Wonderful hosts. Courteous, friendly, and competent wait staff. Wife loved the steak. Ribs were delicious, though one of three thought their might be too much sauce. I like my roasted chicken more well-done, but I gather most people prefer it just the way it came.

Absolutely brilliant! Loved the food (thanks for catering to our dietary requirements, much appreciated), very welcoming staff and looked after us. Would love to go back.

Lovely service, meals came out quickly.. food was delicious.. when they found out I have a tomato allergy, they even left the tomato sauce of my plate and replace with aioli.. we will 💯 dine here again

The food was amazing, a really creative and well thought out menu with some absolute delights on it! Spoke with the head chef, who was really lovely and talented, the waitress was very friendly and ensured we had a great dining experience. Definitely one of, if not the best restaurant we’ve been to in a while! My partner and I highly recommend visiting and enjoying a meal here!!

Despite being busy and it was a Monday night the service was great. They cleaned a table for us with a fantastic view. Food was awesome . Very enjoyable night.

We're always happy dining here because of the excellent service and food quality. Last night's charcoal fish was a bit of a disappointment, though. However, service was excellent.

We were a table of 5 adults. The food was delicious, well presented and tasty. The staff were great, very attentive. Lovely touch opening the door for us when we arrived and left. Nice atmosphere a good place to be able to chat with people, no loud music. Looking forward to going again.
