Our server, Stephi, kindly arranged an outside table for us, and the whole evening was a truly wonderful experience. The food was beautifully cooked and plated, and the service was attentive but not intrusive. There is a new Iranian chef here since our last visit, and we hope he stays a long time. We give this restaurant top marks!

We ate here 8 years ago by chance. When we had the opportunity to come back to Auckland it was our first choice to go back to, and it did not disappoint. Everything was so good!

Delicious meal. We had a shared platter and side salad which was plenty for 4 people. Very enjoyable atmosphere and service.

First visit to restaurant. Table for 4. Food very average for cost. Prawn dish described king prawns were very small. Overcooked and very salty. Wrong meal served so had to wait and then eat whilst everyone else had finished their food. No ice bucket for the wine. Instead provided a small ice cube tub. Kebabs nice but not outstanding. Saffron rice $6 per person . This should be part of main dish. Was really excited to try this restaurant as nice cosy ambience, but sadly very disappointed and will not be returning or recommending.

Our waitress was very warm and welcoming, very attentive and quick to sort any request we had. The food came out in a timely manner, fresh and delicious. Atmosphere was amazing, full restaurant inside yet we still felt like we had the privacy we needed for our dinner. It was our little boys birthday and they surprised him with a little dessert. We love Rumi and will be back!

Keep coming back to Rumi because of the very tasty and authentic tasting Persian food! Best baklava around. Slightly on the expensive side for dining, but well worth it. I just wish the tables were spaced slightly more apart so it feels like a more intimate dining experience.

Not as good as I was lead to believe based on other reviews. That was the consensus of 4 of us that dined. We had the Mezze Platter and shared 3 different mains. Not as authentic as I hoped it would be. Most meals were very basic. Seasonings on the meats were good, but not exceptional. Way too much rice on each dish. The included salad was just cole slaw out of a bag. No sauce like a hummus or something to complement the particular dish. Doog drink was nice. Tasted same as I have had elsewhere.

Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff were efficient, but not overly friendly. Poor value for money. Main s were expensive and the meat to rice ratio was poor. At least half the plate was rice, and a bigger portion of meat would have been appreciated. The tea was lovely, as were the cookies.

Small and cosy with minimal but appropriate decor. Tasty and generous mains. The chicken nibbles to start were just right leaving room and taste buds for the mains. Entrees and mains were enough for us. We will definitely be back.

Great service with great attitude! Definitely would recommend and visit again.

Lacked hospitality and basic courtsey. We were group of 5 ladies and ordered starters and drinks. The young guy who took the order smirked at us for not ordering the mains n judged us for our choice for the table to start with.. Sadly the elderly male looked demotivated and tired at the beginning of the service. Left a very poor impression on all of us. Won’t be going back.

It was my sister’s birthday and they were very kind and sweet, they put on a birthday song and supplied us a delicious dessert!
